The challenge
The hospital needed a dependable way to track equipment movement, service status, and job completion across a busy clinical environment. Manual processes and fragmented visibility made it harder to maintain full traceability, especially when infection-control standards and servicing accuracy mattered.
The work
ByteByBit helped deliver an asset tracking system built around RFID and BLE to provide room-level and asset-level visibility throughout the site. The platform combined a central dashboard for requesting, assigning, and monitoring work with real-time updates sent directly to mobile devices, so staff could act on jobs immediately instead of waiting for delayed handoffs.
QR scanning was used at the point of service to make sure the correct asset was being handled, reducing the risk of misidentification and improving confidence in the audit trail. The delivery stack included Angular, Java, Redis-backed queueing, and a native iOS app designed for operational use on the move.
The result
The finished platform gave the hospital much stronger control over asset traceability, servicing workflows, and compliance-sensitive history. Teams could locate assets faster, request and complete work with less friction, and maintain a cleaner operational record of what had been serviced, where it had been, and what still required attention.
